Senior Capstone

Faculty members in Communication believe that a graduating senior in the communication field should have knowledge of the various contexts of communication, should be a capable researcher of significant issues, should be a competent communicator in both the written and oral modes, and should have an understanding of the attitudes and behaviors that contribute to a successful professional life.

The aim of this study is to discover if there is a genre of video advertisements that utilize activism as a marketing tool. If a genre is uncovered, this could provide a set of criteria for established companies to effectively market their product/brand alongside a current social movement. It would also provide a new set of characteristics for rhetoricians to analyze these types of advertisements moving forward.
